Matthews and Campbelle lead West Indies to victory that ends the series.

West Indies got off to a strong start in the chase, with captain Matthews and Stafanie Taylor combining for 60 runs for the first wicket in eight overs before the latter was caught LBW while attempting to swipe Kavisha Dilhari over the boundary. Matthews then partnered with Shemaine Campbelle for another 51 runs.

Despite the complexity caused by Kawya Kavindi‘s double-strike towards the end, which included Matthews’ 49-run wicket, West Indies managed to score the six runs needed in the last over to secure the victory. At 41 off 30 balls, Campbelle concluded unbeaten.

The West Indies defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in the last Twenty20 International at Hambantota, thanks to the handy hands of Hayley Matthews and Shemaine Campbelle.

The tourists, who had lost the first leg of the three-match T20I series after being whitewashed 0–3 in the previous ODI series, responded admirably to close the tour on a positive note. They managed to reach a difficult aim of 141 in this series finale with one ball remaining.

When summoned to bat earlier in the day, Sri Lanka amassed 141/7, with crucial support from Harshitha Madavi and Kavisha Dilhari. Veteran Chamar Athapaththu scored 39 (38) of the team’s total. Midway through the fourteenth over, the hosts stammered passed 140, a respectable but ultimately insufficient score.
