Following Bengal’s final Ranji Trophy league match of the season against Bihar, veteran batsman Manoj Tiwary declared his retirement from professional cricket.
After receiving recognition for his years of service from the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), the 38-year-old expressed his disappointment at not being able to succeed in international cricket. After questioning MS Dhoni’s decision to remove him from the playing XI following his century against Sri Lanka, he now poked fun at Gautam Gambhir, pointing out his “immature” actions during their 2015 verbal altercation.
Recalling his violent on-field fight with Gautam Gambhir during a Delhi vs. Bengal Ranji Trophy match, Manoj Tiwary said the verbal altercation is still one of his greatest regrets in his career.
