In the first Test match against New Zealand in Bengaluru, senior Indian batsman KL Rahul only managed to score 12 runs, failing to take full advantage of the chance. As he did in South Africa, captain Rohit Sharma supported him to perform well. However, the middle order batsman suffered greatly against good pace bowling, and as a result, his place in the starting lineup is once again in doubt. Selectors will continue to support KL Rahul: Manoj Tiwary
Tiwary knows that the Indian team management will continue to support Rahul because he has the skills and experience necessary to be successful in red-ball cricket, even though he still supports Easwaran. He did, however, reiterate that the selectors should also watch the domestic players.
