Due to a side strain, Mahika Gaur has withdrawn from the Women's Hundred
The highly regarded left-arm seamer from England, Mahika Gaur, has withdrawn from the Women’s Hundred in order to continue her recuperation from a side strain.

The 18-year-old Gaur will instead use the competition’s month-long hiatus to continue her recuperation, under the guidance of the medical specialists at both the ECB and her regional club, Thunder. Gaur was retained by Manchester Originals after making an impression in her rookie season last year.

While finishing her A-levels, Gaur was unavailable for England’s early-season white-ball series against Pakistan. However, she sustained an injury and was later ruled out of the T20I team to play New Zealand this month.

Her failure to make the Hundred could hurt her chances of making the England team for the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. The players will need to prepare for this tournament in Bangladesh as there won’t be any other bilateral cricket before their October departure.

In her first England matches against Sri Lanka last summer, Gaur—who has represented the United Arab Emirates since she was 12—made a lasting impression. She finished her first ODI match at Chester-le-Street in September with stats of 3 for 26.
