As part of his planned conditioning time, the bowler was supposed to return for the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, but a medical evaluation has shown bilateral proximal adductor tendinopathy.
The effort causes adductor tendinopathy in the vicinity of the groin area, and since Ngidi bowls fast, it makes sense to keep up the workload. In addition to missing the Test series against Sri Lanka due to this injury, he will also be unavailable for the all-format tour against Pakistan, according to a statement released by Cricket South Africa. Accordingly, the right-arm pacer won’t be able to play until January 2025.

He is anticipated to resume playing in January after starting a rehabilitation program, according to a statement from CSA.
The statement also stated that Temba Bavuma, the Test captain, is making good progress in his recuperation from a left elbow injury. He will have a fitness test on Monday, November 18, to ascertain whether he is available for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins in Durban on November 27.
