Former India opener Wasim Jaffer and former England captain Michael Vaughan, who have a playful relationship on social media, were teasing each other again after the game. At Headingley, India’s first Test match against England resulted in a disappointing defeat as the home team won by five wickets after chasing 371 runs.
After England grabbed a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, Vaughan made fun of Jaffer. “Good night, @WasimJaffer14. I hope all is well with you. #1-0,” Vaughan tweeted. The former Indian opener hailed the England team on their victory and expressed gratitude to the young squad led by Shubman Gill.
Jaffer did add, though, that the team will recover. “I’m glad a young Indian team caused you to worry in this way. We’ll be back, Michael. Enjoy your victory. He wrote, #ENGvIND. The former English captain responded, writing, “Could be 4-0 now Wasim.”

Additionally, Vaughan used X to mock India’s subpar fielding during the Test match and suggested that he might be hired as their fielding coach. He was alluding to the numerous missed catches that gave Ben Duckett the game-winning 149.
“I wanted to inform you that I have offered to work as a fielding coach in India. He tweeted, “My academy does a roaring trade.”
Duckett’s performance provided the home team a much-needed lead in the five-match series and earned him the Player of the Match award. India will suffer because they should have won the game. They were in a great position in both innings thanks to centuries from four of their players. However, poor catches, a lacklustre bowling team, and collapses of 7/41 and 6/31 in both innings cost them the match.
