Looking forward to India's journey to Australia, which will be the real test- Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly, a former cricket player, believes that India will defeat Bangladesh in the two-match Test series starting on September 19. He did, however, caution the Rohit Sharma-led team not to underestimate Bangladesh, who will be buoyant following a historic series victory over Pakistan earlier in the month.

On the other hand, Ganguly is excited to watch how India performs in the five-match away series that begins on November 22 against Australia. India will be aiming for a hat-trick after winning their past two series in Australia. The 52-year-old said that the England series in 2025 will be critical as well, and that the Australia series will be the true test. He pointed out that in both series, pacers will be crucial.

During the England series, Akash Deep was called up to the Indian squad.

India will win the series, in my opinion; Bangladesh won’t prevail. However, after defeating Pakistan in Pakistan, Bangladesh is entering the series with a great deal of confidence, so India must prepare for strong and tough cricket from them, Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata.

“I am excited for their next journey to Australia; in my opinion, it will be the squad’s true test. Then, to be honest, these are the two most significant tours when they go throughout England in July. With Bumrah and Siraj, as well as when Shami returns, I believe the pace bowling unit will be formidable,” he continued.

He only participated in one game in Ranchi but claimed three wickets. He recently struck for five wickets against India B in the Duleep Trophy, and as a result, he was called up for the Bangladesh series. Speaking on the subject, Ganguly praised the Bengal pacer and predicted that in the near future, he will surpass Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami in speed.

“Young Akash Deep is a fantastic quick bowler. He sprints in, bowls quickly, and bowls for extended lengths of time. He played for Bengal, and I saw him take wickets. He will reach the upper 140s with the same speed as Shami and Siraj. He’s someone to keep an eye on,” he continued.
