Before the SA20 2025–26 season comes to a close, the Durban Super Giants have made a midseason move by replacing New Zealand batsman Devon Conway with England all-rounder Liam Livingstone. In an attempt to make the playoffs, DSG, which is currently in the middle of the standings, signed Livingstone.
Due to national obligations, Conway will not be playing for the Durban Super Giants for the rest of the SA20 season. New Zealand’s white-ball tour of India, which consists of three ODIs and five T20Is between January 11 and January 31, has included the left-handed batsman on its roster.
SRH selected Liam Livingstone for INR 13 crore for the 2026 IPL.
With a lifetime T20 strike rate of 145.06, Livingstone, an England all-rounder, is regarded as one of the most potent middle-order hitters in the game. Following a fierce bidding battle with the Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired him for an incredible INR 13 crore at the IPL 2026 auction. SRH had faith in his ability, even though his first attempt went unsold.
Livingstone scored 112 runs in eight innings during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2025 championship campaign, which was a respectable individual season. Since then, he has maintained a strong white-ball form. In addition to being the team’s top run scorer with 241 runs, he captained the Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred. He had a successful T20 Blast season for Lancashire after that.
The Durban Super Giants are currently ranked fourth in the SA20 standings after five games. With eight points after one victory, two defeats, and two draws, they are still behind the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Paarl Royals, and Johannesburg Super Kings. On January 7, DSG will play the Pretoria Capitals in Kingsmead.
