Lisa Sthalekar talks about Australia's mental toughness and game awareness. "The team believes it can win in any situation," she says.

Lisa Sthalekar, a former cricket player for Australia, talked about how her national team’s strong mentality has helped them win many titles. The Aussies are the best team in women’s cricket. They have won seven ODI World Cups and six T20 World Cups, making them the most successful team in the sport.

On the other hand, even though the Indian women’s team has gotten better, they haven’t been able to compete with the Australians in the big games. Then, the former cricketer Lisa Sthalekar talked about how the Australians thought and told the Women in Blue that they needed to work on their confidence to win.

“When I played, and still now, the Australian team thinks it can win in any situation because it has done it before. I can talk about people my age.  Sometimes we shouldn’t have won, but we did.”

The Indian Express reported Lisa Sthalekar as saying, “At my state team, New South Wales, we used to win national titles all the time.

“So, once you have that idea, it’s hard to train and coach that. You have to be put in those situations and come out of them successfully before you can start to believe that you can win anything. India has been so close to winning so many times, they just need to cross the finish line and the tide will turn,” she said.

She also said that once the players start competing for a spot in the national team, their competitiveness will help them make huge steps forward in the most important ICC matches.

“This Indian team will move up to the next level once there are a lot of people fighting for places. They are the only side that always tries to push Australia. If they played cricket more often, whether it was for their state, WPL, or A team, they might win those key times in an ICC event,” she said.
