"This year, we can really take them on," Lauren Bell says before the Women's Ashes.

Lauren Bell, a young pacer for England who made her international debut last year, is looking forward to the start of the Women’s Ashes at Trent Bridge. Bell is excited to play for the English team in the Nottingham Test, which starts on June 22 and is their first-ever five-day match against their biggest enemy, Australia.

Lauren Bell played her first game for England in any event last year, but her only Test for England so far is the one she remembers best. Even though the 22-year-old tall pacer is just starting out on the world scene, she is amazed by the longest format of the game.

“When I made my start last year, it was special for a lot of reasons, but what I remember most is how special Test match cricket felt. I don’t think I had fully understood it before, but I could see how special it was to be a part of it, and I felt so lucky to be a part of it,” Lauren Bell told a news agency before the first Ashes game.

We don’t have to worry about making a mistake: Lauren Bell

Over 14,500 people have bought tickets for the historic match between the women’s team and Australia, which will be the first five-day Test the women’s team has ever played. Even though Lauren Bell is excited about the chance to play in the historic match, he is wary of the threat the Australians pose. She gave a rallying call to her team, telling them to play cricket without fear against the Australians.

“It’s exciting to play at Trent Bridge this year, a big test ground with a lot of history. We need to recognise that women’s cricket is moving in the right direction and show how far we’ve come. We know they’ve been ahead of us for the past few years, but we’ve worked really hard, and there’s a lot of faith that we can really challenge them this year. We shouldn’t be afraid of losing. We can’t be scared about making a mistake and what might happen if we do,” she said.
