There haven’t been any conversations about captaincy within the LSG camp, according to LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener, who dismissed all the rumours involving KL Rahul. He mentioned that Rahul and Goenka had a conversation about the game and referred to it as a “storm in a teacup.”
Owner of the Lucknow Super Giants Sanjeev Goenka was seen agitatedly discussing with captain KL Rahul following the team’s poor showing against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This led to several rumours that Goenka was resigning as the locker room captain. Though Rahul has amassed 460 runs in 12 matches and is LSG’s leading scorer for the season, his strike rate of 136.09 has drawn a lot of criticism.
Lance Klusener, though, refuted any such discussions. Without a doubt, no conversations about that (captaincy). A good debate between two cricket enthusiasts doesn’t seem problematic to me. Sportstar cited Lance Klusener as stating, “It’s a storm in a teacup.”

In the 12 games they have played in the IPL 2024 thus far, Lucknow has won six of them. The team captained by KL Rahul is now eighth in the standings, and if they win their next two games, they will make the playoffs for the third consecutive season. Prior to facing the Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Lance Klusener said that the group had to have been a little more reliable by now in order to guarantee their postseason spot. Their hitters haven’t performed at their peak level this season, the former cricket player continued.
“We would like to increase our consistency by a tiny bit. We probably need to win five straight games to win the IPL, and I believe RCB has just accomplished that. Thus, it is quite feasible. That’s only the broad picture; before we can pursue any more goals, we must cross the line tomorrow. We haven’t played to our potential, therefore I believe it is the hitting unit around KL,” Lance Klusener remarked.
