On social media, Lalit Modi, the man who founded the Indian Premier League (IPL), showed his admiration for Virat Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). With a touching message for the team, he shared a popular Ghibli-style photo of Kohli holding the IPL trophy.
According to Lalit Modi, RCB will win the trophy this year since the supporters “deserve” it after eighteen years of waiting. With their strong performance in the current season, the Bengaluru-based team has a high chance of winning the trophy as well.
Lalit Modi commended Virat Kohli for his services to both the RCB and Indian cricket.
Even though they haven’t won the championship yet, RCB has a sizable fan base and is the most followed team on Instagram right now. The fact that the team and its supporters have supported them despite going 17 seasons without a title says a lot about them.
“I believe I’m going to start picking Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win the Indian Premier League this year. The RCB supporters who have been waiting for a good eighteen years will adore it. They are deserving of it, no doubt. “What a fantastic season the team has had,” he said as the caption for an Instagram picture.
“Virat Kohli, the superstar, joined RCB at the beginning of the first season as a young player who had just captained the India team, which he led to victory in the 2008 U-19 Cricket World Cup. He went on to have an incredible career that won the hearts of more than a billion people worldwide.” For the team and HIM, which my good friend Vijay Mallya purchased for $112 million in 2008, it would be a #fitting victory. “Best wishes to them,” Modi continued in the caption.
Rajat Patidar is in charge of the team this season and has performed admirably. RCB is playing fiercely in the tournament and has won four away games. They will automatically qualify for the RCB if they win their next games.
