The newly elected managing committee of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has established a prominent Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), led by Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath. Other members of the group include Sunil Joshi, Vijay Bharadwaj, and Jayshree Doraiswamy.
After the KSCA elections earlier this month, the Venkatesh Prasad-led government took power, and this decision is one of its first significant administrative actions.
The managing committee later approved the CAC’s recommendations for significant changes to Karnataka’s selection panels for the current season, which were made during its first meeting. Along with S. Prakash, Tejpal Kothari, and Sunil Raju, Amit Verma has been appointed head of the selectors for the Senior and Under-23 men’s teams. G. K. Anil Kumar, C. Raghavendra, G. N. Umesh, and D. S. Ananth will be on the junior men’s selection panel for the Under-19, Under-16, and Under-14 teams.
Additionally, Ganesh Satish and Deepak Chougule replaced Somashekar Siruguppi and S. R. Deepu, respectively, as the Under-23 coaching staff. Decisions from the Women’s Selection Committee are anticipated in the near future. The former KSCA treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya has also been named Chairman of Public and Member Relations and Official Spokesperson.
The former India bowler received 749 votes to KN Shanth Kumar’s 558, and Prasad was voted KSCA president earlier this month. With former umpire BK Ravi emerging as the only victor from the opposing party as joint secretary, Santosh Menon returning as secretary, BN Madhukar securing the treasurer’s position, and Sujith Somasundar elected vice-president, the Prasad-led group nearly won a landslide victory.
