When the reigning champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) play the first game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at Eden Gardens on Saturday, March 22, Kolkata Metro has announced special late-night services on the Blue Line and Green Line-2. The purpose of this setup is to give gamegoers comfortable transportation.
In response to KKR’s request, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) decided to run extended metro services. Authorities have implemented stringent procedures to prevent crowding and offer convenient transit options for fans heading home late at night, given the anticipated volume of spectators at Eden Gardens.
In order to accommodate supporters heading home from the stadium, additional metro services on the Blue Line and Green Line-2 will be provided from Esplanade station, covering key routes. During this time, booking counters for Smart Cards, Tokens, and Paper-Based QR Tickets will continue to be open at the Old Esplanade and New Esplanade Metro stations. However, in addition to the standard fare, there will be a fee of INR 10 per ticket.
