Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell incredible hit during Australia’s Cricket globe Cup match versus Afghanistan at the storied Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai stunned the cricketing globe. The Australian all-rounder gave his team a three-wicket victory with an unbeaten 201 from 128 deliveries.

Glenn Maxwell has been receiving a lot of praise from supporters, cricket commentators, and fellow supporters for smashing one of the finest innings in ODI World Cup history. Virat Kohli, his partner at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), was likewise shocked by the Australian’s jab and showered him with appreciation.

The former captain of India, who has personally seen Maxwell’s power up close, praised him on social media. You are the only one who could do this. Freak,” he captioned a photo on Instagram.

Australia advances to the semi-finals behind Glenn Maxwell

With the aid of 21 boundaries and 10 maximums, Maxwell hit a record-breaking double century to help Australia defeat Afghanistan in Mumbai. The five-time winners moved on to the competition’s semifinal as a consequence of their victory.

In terms of the match, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a respectable goal of 292. Afghanistan relied heavily on Ibrahim Zadran, who amassed an undefeated 129 off 143 deliveries. The opening batsman, who made history by becoming the first Afghan batter to reach a century in an ODI World Cup, added a fresh feather to his cap.

Afghanistan was off to a fast start, taking four wickets in the first ten overs of the game. But Maxwell, who batted at number six when Australia was down 49/4, arrived to the plate. The Kangaroos had lost seven wickets for 91 runs and were virtually out of the match. But Maxwell then pulled off an incredible comeback for his team, as Australia managed to reach the mark with just 19 balls remaining. Rashid Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Naveen-ul-Haq all took two wickets apiece for Afghanistan.
