On the opening day of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh, Zaheer Khan referred to KL Rahul’s cheap dismissal as “disappointing”. On September 19, at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, Mehidy Hasan Miraz removed the Karnataka batsman for a 52-ball 16.
KL Rahul In the second session, India lost their first four wickets for 96 runs, thus Rahul walked out to bat. He made his way across choppy waters and positioned himself near the edge. But when he prodded a harmless ball from Mehidy to Zakir Hasan at forward short-leg, all of his hard work was undone.
Zaheer Khan, a former pacer for India, believed that KL Rahul ought to have done more with his debut to save the hosts from certain disaster.

As the day wore on, the Bangladeshi players’ shoulders began to collapse. Ashwin proceeded to achieve his sixth century in Test cricket, concluding unbeaten at stumps with 102 off 112 balls. Jadeja, however, provided Ashwin with excellent support with a score of 86 not out off 117 balls. In their innings, both batters struck out two sixes and ten fours. India finished with a score of 339/6 after a four-for from Hasan Mahmud.

Day 2’s opening session will be vital since Bangladesh wants to put a stop to India’s innings as soon as possible. However, Indian supporters would be hoping that the 195-run partnership between Ashwin and Jayadeja keeps tiring out the opposition.
