The star Indian hitter KL Rahul, who has been dealing with a hamstring ailment, was expected to make his comeback.
During the May 1 encounter between the Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the wicketkeeper batter suffered a right leg injury. KL Rahul missed the remainder of the IPL 2023 as well as the match against Australia in the World Test Championship final as a result of the injury.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated on August 29th that Rahul will miss India’s first two matches of the Asia Cup 2023. This has been a significant setback for the 31-year-old’s comeback in the tournament. In their opening two games, India will compete against Nepal and Pakistan. On September 2, Pakistan will host The Men in Blue in their opening Asia Cup 2023 game.
