Famous Indian batter KL Rahul recently spoke up, pointing out how short an athlete’s career is, and sharing his thoughts on a possible retirement. Interestingly, Rahul was having trouble breaking into the Indian team and did not have a good season with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2024.
In a same spirit, the flashy batsman and current LSG captain stated that, as long as he stays fit, a player can play until he is forty. He did, however, admit to experiencing anxiety after turning thirty. even making a hint about his impending retirement by saying he could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“It ends, and it ends quickly for me, but there’s a feeling that it doesn’t,” the speaker said. It’s possible to play till 40 if you’re in good enough shape. That’s the most that person has ever wagered. Indeed, KL Rahul said in a podcast on Nikhil Kamath’s YouTube channel, “There is MS Dhoni, who is 43 years old and still playing.”
It’s okay to play IPL and other leagues, but don’t stay on the international scene for too long. Athletes have a very limited shelf life, so you have to make the most of it while you still have it, he said. This realisation and fear of this exist.

In addition, KL Rahul stated that he hopes to play cricket for ten more years, but that it must come to an end eventually. The 32-year-old said that he was only able to see the finish line because he was so focused on playing cricket.
“Anxiety struck me when I turned thirty. I could make out the end of the passage. I didn’t realise that until I was 29. On my 30th birthday, an odd incident occurred. Upon realising that I only had ten years left to play cricket, I became anxious.
