At Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on October 13, during the second Test match against the West Indies, India’s opening batsman KL Rahul experienced a traumatic situation. A modest goal of 121 runs was being chased by India in order to complete the two-match Test series and improve their standing in the World Test Championship (WTC) points standings.
On the third ball of his over in the fourth innings, Jayden Seales bowled a back-of-a-length delivery with extra carry. He collapsed to his knees, writhing in sorrow. Kamlesh Jain, an Indian physiotherapist, hurried onto the pitch to evaluate the injuries. There was a little delay due to the slight setback, but the batter returned to the crease, adjusted his protective gear, and started batting again after taking a break.
The bounce caught KL Rahul off guard, and he was hit squarely in the groin region.
