I am aware of the mental and technical changes I must make. — KL Rahul begins by downplaying India's order.

Australia prevented India from completing a rare whitewash in Rajkot by winning by 66 runs to make the final score 2-1 in India’s favor. The series’ final ODI featured a number of experimentation due to the absence of numerous players and KL Rahul comments about playing down the order. KL Rahul, who often bats first, stepped up to the plate at number five as Washington Sundar and Rohit Sharma started the Indian innings.

KL Rahul discussed downplaying the order in an interview with Jio Cinema following the game.

“There isn’t much of a difference between batting at four and five. Yes, dropping to No. 5 seemed quite odd after opening the batting my entire life. I’ve had that role for the past few years, and I’ve filled it for a considerable amount of time.

I am aware of the mental and technical adjustments I must make as well as when to take chances. Additionally, after taking a break from the game, I went back and watched a few videos of players who have excelled at Nos. 4 and 5, as well as how they manage their innings. So, when I enter the center, I evaluate the situation and work as efficiently as possible.

He also discussed the team’s recent Asia Cup performances and their performance versus Australia. “Everyone has been in a similar frame of mind for the last few weeks. Every game in the Asia Cup was a must-win game for us, and we were playing extremely competitive games. The Australian team we played in this series was quite good, and they’ve had the upper hand over us in India for the past few years. We did our best to fulfill the very particular roles that were given to us and to the best of our abilities. For our benefit, many of the guys did that exceptionally effectively. We can ideally build on that and advance as a team.
