The two-time winners created history in their most recent matchup with the Delhi Capitals in Vizag, as they amassed an enormous 272 runs in the game’s opening innings. While there were a few first-inning performances that stood out, many people praised Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who was making his debut. With 54 runs in 27 deliveries and a competition record, the 18-year-old wrecked havoc on Delhi’s bowlers. On the other hand, his post-match interview became viral on social media. During the post-match presentation ceremony, after hitting his first IPL half-century, Raghuvanshi spoke with Harsha Bhogle about his performance.
The Kolkata Knight Riders are currently dominating the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). After three games in the competition, Kolkata has triumphed in each of its previous three encounters.
“Watching the ball was all I had to do when I went to bat.” During the post-match presentation ceremony, Raghuvanshi stated, “I think the amount of practice in the last few weeks, I just backed my instincts, and it happened.”
Harsha Bhogle also questioned him about whether the 272-run total would be sufficient to defend. The 18-year-old, however, was quick to point out that the work was still not done in light of the previous game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
“Hold on, did you watch the Sunrisers game? “The job’s not done yet, as it was obviously insufficient,” he answered.
Additionally, Raghuvanshi was questioned concerning possible bowling strategies that the Kolkata Knight Riders might employ in order to protect the total in the second innings. He noted that the track offered less support for the spinners, but his team was still in the running because of the high-caliber spinners on the team.
“I believe that everything you bowl on that track is going on nicely, but let’s see how it goes. Our spinners are great, so I think we did not see much spin,” Raghuvanshi said in closing.
