On November 19, Kirti Azad to file a nomination for DDCA president post

It was recently stated that Kirti Azad, a former cricket player for India, would run for president of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). He promised to create new academies in nine different locations in order to develop club cricket, and he will file his candidacy on November 19.

The DDCA elections, which will be held for all members of the top council, including five office bearers and seven directors, are scheduled to take place from December 13 to 15. Additionally, on December 16, the results will be announced.

“I’m going to do it on the 19th instead of the 14th as I had originally planned.

It’s because I have an urgent trip to my constituency,” Kirti Azad was cited by News18 as saying.

Nine academicians in nine separate locations are what I intend to start. As in, take the land and have a contract that says we’ll keep it in good condition. We’ll also pay your groundskeeper and give us your property. It’s due to the abundance of private academies available now,” he continued.

Additionally, when he filed for the nomination, Azad stated that he would wait for his rivals to disclose their plans before disclosing his own.

“I’m waiting on other people to comment, such as, what do they write? What will they be discussing? I’m simply waiting for it. Ultimately, they made a lot of promises during the last elections. They will undoubtedly provide the report card, Azad stated.

Additionally, he disclosed that one of his goals is to enhance the sport’s promotion at the club, university, and school levels. He believed that it was vitally important to develop and raise the upcoming generation of Delhi-born cricket players.

“Yes, it is necessary for us to encourage club cricket. Numerous individuals from outside the area are enrolling at colleges, settling down, and becoming eligible to play for Delhi.

But where is the Delhi-born talent making its way into teams? For example, while I was playing, we had amazing, gifted players,” Azad continued.
