The physical change Sarfaraz Khan has undergone has impressed former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen. Sarfaraz recently posted images to social media following a 17-kg weight loss in a few months.
Kevin Pietersen shared his photo of the young batsman-wicketkeeper along with a touching note. In order to restore his lost batting prowess, the former England player advised Prithvi Shaw to take the same actions.
For those who are unfamiliar, Shaw has also been frequently criticised for failing to stay healthy enough to play professional cricket. In addition to being ousted from Mumbai’s domestic teams and going unsold in the 2025 IPL auction, he has had a wild ride since losing his spot in the Indian squad.

Returning to Sarfaraz, he recently played against the England Lions in preparation for the current England-India five-match series. Even though he scored 92 points in the game, he was not selected. In the home series against New Zealand last year, he last played for India in the red-ball format.
Sarfaraz’s Test debut against England last year was noteworthy. With three half-centuries in his first five Test innings, he had a strong start to his international career. He hasn’t been able to solidify his spot on the Test team yet, though.
