Kerala is preferred by Baba Aparajith over Tamil Nadu for the upcoming domestic season

After more than ten years of service for Tamil Nadu, Baba Aparajith is going to join Kerala. Following months of negotiations, Aparajith has made a move to join the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), which was looking for an all-round player following the departure of Shreyas Gopal. According to rumours, Kerala reportedly made an informal proposal to the 30-year-old in June, and he only recently made it official.

Ahead of the start of the new domestic season, Gopal notably joined the Karnataka Cricket Association. Before returning to his own state, the leg-spinner lived in Kerala for a year.

Aparajith, an all-rounder, left the state team after being left out of Tamil Nadu’s Ranji Trophy team the previous year. Aparajith is also anticipated to lead the squad in Sanju Samson’s absence, since he stated a desire to play alongside the player.

Pacer Kuldeep Sen also said goodbye to Tamil Nadu. Prior to the upcoming season, the 27-year-old returned to Madhya Pradesh after joining the state squad the previous year. After moving, the cricketer from Rewa anticipated getting more playing time; nevertheless, he only played in three first-class matches for Tamil Nadu, taking three wickets.

Mandeep Singh is moving to Tripura in the other relocation. Wriddhiman Saha, an experienced keeper-batter, made his way back to Bengal, which gave Tripura the opportunity to sign another star player. The Punjab team, led by Mandeep, won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) the previous season. He didn’t get a team in the IPL despite this, which should motivate him to improve in the upcoming season.

For the upcoming season, Tripura has also signed Jiwanjot Singh. He played for Chattisgarh before to joining Uttarakhand in the 2023–24 season. Over the course of his 92 first-class games, he has scored 5451 runs at an average of 38.11. Due to his action, Ravikumar Samarth was able to sign with Uttarakhand after leaving Karnataka.
