The Kerala Cricket League (KCL), which would be the state’s inaugural league, debuted its logo on August 9 with the unveiling of the Kerala Cricketer Association (KCA). The Kerala-born India wicket-keeper batter, Sanju Samson, debuted the logo during a Thiruvananthapuram ceremony.
Samson is also the KCL’s emblem, and the competition’s games will take place at Greenfield International Stadium from September 2 to September 19. A total of 168 players will participate in the league’s auctions, with 20 players available for each franchise to select from their player pantheon. In addition to the league emblem, each franchise’s logo was made public.
“The Kerala Cricket League player auction is set to take place at the Hyatt Regency on Saturday, with a 10 AM start time.
Renowned auctioneer Charu Sharma led the briefing, which was followed by a practice auction to help the franchises get used to the procedure’, cited by the Hindustan Times, said.
“Day and night contests, as well as two exciting games every day, are in store for fans. The league will be formally introduced on August 31, 2024, at noon at the Hyatt Regency by the renowned actor and KCL brand ambassador, Mohanlal,” the statement continued.
Three categories will be used for player auctions.
As icon players for the upcoming league, P A Abdul Basit, Sachin Baby, Mohammad Azharuddin, Basil Thambi, Vishnu Vinod, and Rohan S Kunnammal were already chosen. The KCA also disclosed the player auction structure, wherein players who have participated in the Ranji Trophy and IPL are expected to get a basic price of two lakh rupees.
Three categories will be used for the auction: Players in Category A get a basic salary of ₹two lakh and have experience in both the Ranji Trophy and the IPL.

Players in Category B, who receive a base wage of ₹One lakh, are C K Naidu, U-23, U-19 State, and U-19 Challengers players. The announcement finished with “Category C: For U-16 state players, university players, and club cricketers, with a base salary of Rs. 50,000.”
