Karun Nair, who he believed was offended by some of Uthappa’s remarks in an interview, was the reason he revealed in a recent interview.
Although Robin Uthappa was in and out of the Indian white-ball team, he believed he had a chance to make the Test squad because of his steady results in the local circuit. That was severely damaged, though, when he was left off of the Karnataka team for the 2016–17 campaign.
An interview took place. I was attempting to join the Test team at that time. I was annoyed that I wasn’t even being taken into consideration, even though I did a good job. Perhaps the chat revealed all of those feelings. According to India TV, Uthappa stated on First Umpire, “I stated in the interview that Test caps were being distributed too readily and that some people actually needed to earn them rather than just getting them freely.”
“Karun Nair was informed by a member of our staff that I had mentioned him in that segment of the interview.
Because Karun Nair was on the verge of receiving a Test cap at the time, he alienated me. He was like a younger brother to me. He believed it without consulting me.
Later on, he was additionally charged with inciting unwarranted conflict within the team.
A summit was later held in Karnataka. I usually got everyone together, invited them home, shared a dinner and drinks, and fostered team spirit when we made it to the quarterfinals. There was a meeting in the stadium before I could invite them home. I was summoned and informed that I was causing problems and splintering the team,” Uthappa stated.
Up till 2022, Uthappa represented Kerala and Saurashtra after leaving Karnataka.
