Kartik Sharma of Rajasthan experienced a dream come true in his early career when the Chennai Super Kings signed him for an incredible INR 14.2 crore, making him the joint most expensive uncapped player in IPL history. The emerging star’s services were purchased by CSK at the December 16 IPL 2026 mini-auction in Abu Dhabi.
Manoj Sharma, Kartik Sharma father, declared immediately following the historic bid that he would be able to repay all of the loans he had taken out to develop his son’s budding skill. The father went on to say that their family is appreciative of the tremendous help they had from a number of people who saw Kartik Sharma potential early on. Additionally, he believes it will be sufficient to settle the obligations they have accrued thus far, which total 27–28 lakh.
We appreciate the cooperation of Lokandersingh Chahar, the father of Indian seaman Deepak Chahar, and the secretary of the Bharatpur DCA. “Yes, we have debt, but hopefully we will be able to pay it off soon,” The Times of India cited Manoj Sharma as saying.
Kartik Sharma himself was also overjoyed to have been given a place in the CSK locker room to start his Indian Premier League career.
He talked about how his father always supported him, went to the academy with him to train, and also threw down throwdowns between the batsman and the wicketkeeper in the nets.
“It’s a dream come true to play for CSK. I’m anxious and excited at the same time. My father sacrificed his career to train me day in and day out, which helped shape me into the player I am today, and for that I am grateful. I would practise with my father by my side. He bowled to me for hours every day when we went to the academy for training, Kartik Sharma said.
