A long-awaited dream of the people, the Mysuru International Cricket Stadium has been in the works for a while. According to recent reports, the Karnataka state government may eventually fund the stadium’s development.
The state of Karnataka already boasts a famous stadium called the Chinnaswamy, which has played host to some of the most memorable international cricket matches.
However, it has been reported that in a social media post about the stadium’s development, former MP Pratap Simha asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to support the proposal.
According to the Star of Mysore, the property in question is Government Kharab land, which has also been approved for stadium construction. It is reasonable to say that Mysuru’s stadium project appears to be finally taking shape.
You called the Cabinet meeting in Chamarajanagar, which was formerly a part of the undivided Mysuru district, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. At Sathagalli, a stadium with all the amenities was initially proposed. However, there may be legal problems under the National Green Tribunal’s guidelines because of a lake on that property. Alternatively, 26.31 acres close to Huyilalu have been located, and all necessary processes have been finished. Give Cabinet approval, please,” Simha wrote on social media.

Simha confirms land clearance and requests cabinet approval.
Additionally, Pratap Simha has claimed that there are no legal complications because, as a former MP (Member of Parliament), he has already investigated the land title. He added that INR 100 crore is anticipated to be invested by the KSCA.
“I tirelessly pursued the stadium issue when I was the Member of Parliament. My efforts are paying off today. This piece of land is free of title conflicts and legal complications. To build the stadium, the KSCA is anticipated to spend more than ₹100 crore, which may establish Mysuru as a major hub for both domestic and international cricket, Simha continued.
The stadium idea is on the Cabinet agenda, according to sources. The transfer of 26.31 acres of government property, Survey Numbers 312 and 313, for the project has been formally requested by the Mysuru Regional Commissioner to the Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department.
