Karnataka announced a 15-man team on Friday, November 15, for the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The team will be led by Mayank Agarwal, who possesses a remarkable blend of youth and experience. For the renowned T20 event, Agarwal’s deputy has been announced as Manish Pandey.
November 23–December 15 is when the 17th Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will take place. Karnataka is in Group B with several very strong teams, including Baroda, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Saurashtra.
Agarwal and company will play Uttarakhand on November 23 to start their campaign. The previous tournament edition saw the former India opener lead Karnataka in runs scored. The team’s top wicket-taker from the previous season, Krishnappa Gowtham, hasn’t been able to make the cut. Due to their third-place performance in their group, behind Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka did not advance to the knockout stages last year.
The two wicketkeepers in the squad are Chethan LR and Shrijith KL. Both Abhinav Manohar and Devdutt Padikkal are promising young hitters. For the former two-time champions, Shreyas Gopal will be leading the spin-bowling division.
