Kane Williamson, the former captain of New Zealand, did not sell at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction. He will play a new role in the event, though. Earlier today (March 21), Star Sports revealed that Williamson would be joining Shikhar Dhawan and AB de Villiers on a star-studded commentary panel.

Kane Williamson didn’t play for the Gujarat Titans (GT) again until 2024, but his team let him go before the 2025 IPL auction.
The 34-year-old, however, has a deal with Karachi Kings to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, where he will rejoin former IPL teammate David Warner.
The PSL 2025 will compete with the IPL for the first time, beginning on April 11. Because of this, it’s still uncertain whether Williamson will fulfill his PSL contract requirements or stay on the IPL commentary team.
