You experience good days occasionally, followed by days of varying quality. - Kane Williamson divulges details of his life in the rehab lane.

The 2023 ODI World Cup will be held in India in October, and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson said he is cautiously hopeful about his chances of participating. Notably, Kane Williamson needed surgery after rupturing his right knee’s anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during the opening game of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Since that time, the captain has been restricted to the sidelines, raising questions about whether he will recover in time for the World Cup, which will be held in India.

Kane Williamson is currently making progress toward recovery, but he is not hurrying things along and is instead marking off little rehab accomplishments.

“It’s always an honor to attend the World Cup. Regarding the time of day or how it is tracking right now, it is still only speculation at this point. Much work has to be done. I’m just really following the plan with the physio specialists, the support team, and New Zealand cricket,” Kane Williamson was quoted as saying by ESPN cricinfo.

“And it’s difficult because you do have some fantastic days and then a couple inconsistent ones. Though it is undoubtedly motivating to have the World Cup in the back of your mind, you want to keep making progress, he continued.

The white-ball captain of New Zealand has started throwing matches in the net sessions and plans to face the bowlers in the coming days.

“Yeah, we’re still working on throws and other stuff, and some of those positions. In terms of some of the spin work, the variation, and linkages, as well as other types of things that you might not have given much thought to, I never really had to break it down so much.

“At this point, you’re actually attempting to exaggerate some of the movements in order to better prepare them for the more intense exercises. But, you know, it is actually moving well and, hopefully, isn’t too far from both,” Williamson said in his conclusion.

In order to continue his rehabilitation, Williamson will join the national squad for the upcoming series against England, which is set to start on August 30. At the renowned Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, New Zealand’s World Cup campaign gets underway on October 5 as they play host to England.
