Justin Langer will remain the head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) till the 2026 Indian Premier League season, the team has formally confirmed. In addition to announcing the franchise, which is owned by the RPSG Group under Sanjiv Goenka, they also revealed additional members of their support team, such as Carl Crowe as spin-bowling coach and Kane Williamson as strategic advisor.
In their first season after entering the IPL in 2022, the Lucknow Super Giants placed third, and they are continuing that success in 2023. But the past two seasons have been less successful; under the Australians’ leadership, the team finished sixth in 2024 and 2025.
For long-term growth, LSG’s management has decided to keep Langer on board despite the decline in performance. Since joining LSG in 2024, Justin Langer has demonstrated a strong work ethic and discipline, qualities that were well-known while he was Australia’s head coach.
We go into every IPL season with high hopes and expectations, and 2026 is no different. We are looking forward to the work that lies ahead as we continue to cultivate a franchise that the Goenka family, our players, sponsors, supporters, and fans can all be so proud of. We’ve been working nonstop since the conclusion of the last season as we get ready to leave our imprint on the IPL this year. There is a developing sense of hope, expectation, and passion for LSG. We anticipate bolstering our team in the upcoming months.
Additionally, we anticipate seeing Ekana decked out in blue when the season begins,” Justin Langer stated, as cited by ESPNcricinfo.

The team has hired Kane Williamson, a former captain of New Zealand, as a strategic advisor to bolster their backroom strength. Additionally, the team revealed Carl Crowe, a former member of the Kolkata Knight Riders, as their new spin-bowling coach. Crowe joins Bharat Arun, who left KKR earlier this year and just assumed the role of fast-bowling coach.
