Josh Hazlewood is motivated to beat India in the BGT 2024–2025, saying, "We should pretty much win every series here at home."

Josh Hazlewood, an Australian fast bowler, recently discussed his anticipation and prudence for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 series. On November 22, at the start of the five-match Test series, Hazlewood spoke candidly about the difficult task that India poses, even when playing in Australia.

Australia and India have long maintained a passionate rivalry for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The last four bilateral Test series between the two countries have been won by India, hence the recent trend in the series has been favourable to the team.

The last time Australia beat India in a series was in 2014–15, when Michael Clarke was the captain. As a vital member of Australia’s bowling attack, Hazlewood understands the importance of this next series.

Many players have never triumphed over India in a Test series. That’s very amazing to say. We should essentially win every series here at home, so that’s one we need to cross off the list, according to Hazlewood, who was cited by.

They are incredibly deep in every format: Josh Hazlewood

Hazlewood praised India’s incredible passion and depth in addition to remembering Australia’s overpowering performance in the Adelaide Test of 2020–21, when they knocked India out for just 36 runs.

We clearly bowled them out for 36 in Adelaide during the last series, and we felt, “This time, we’re back at home and we can win on these grounds.” They can occasionally outplay the best team, notwithstanding the claim that we played India B in the most recent Test match. We are now beginning to see their incredible richness across all formats,” he continued.

After the disastrous Adelaide series, India had a spectacular recovery in the 2020–21 series, winning 2-1 despite the absence of several important players, most notably captain Virat Kohli. Indian fans still remember the spectacular triumph at the Gabba in Brisbane, where Australia had not lost a Test match since 1988.
