Twitter Reactions: Josh Inglis spoils Scotland's hopes of levelling the series with fiery ton

Subsequently, Josh Inglis’ performance took centre stage as the batter thoroughly destroyed the Scots. Brad Wheal bowled the last over of the powerplay, which yielded 16 runs to him. In just 20 balls, the hitter reached his fifty. The right-handed batter had proven unstoppable for fifty years. In T20Is, he became the fastest Australian player to reach a century in 43 balls, thanks to seven boundaries and an equal number of maximums.

After all, Josh Inglis finished his innings at 103 off 49 balls.

On September 6, Australia and Scotland squared off in the second Twenty20 International at Edinburgh’s Grange Cricket Club. After winning the toss, Scotland chose to bowl first. The hosts were able to get on the board early when they sent Travis Head, the game’s maverick, for a golden duck thanks to Bradley Currie. Jake Fraser-McGurk did the same, only managing to score 16 runs. In the fourth over, Australia had 23 runs scored and two wickets lost.

Tim David and Marcus Stoinis struck 20* and 17*, respectively, while Cameron Green chipped in with 36 off 29 deliveries. Scotland was facing a challenging target from the visitors, who produced 197 runs.

Scotland’s batters enter a pin code similar to a scorecard.

Following a strong start, Scotland lost Michael Jones while chasing the target. With 19 runs scored, George Munsey too gave up, and the remaining Scottish batsmen fell apart like a pack of cards. Brandon McMullen, who played till the 13th over and scored a hard-working 59 off 42 balls, was the only player to take a significant hit. No one wielding a blade scored more than ten runs, not even the number four hitters until the very last nail in the coffin.

In 16.4 overs, Australia limited Scotland to just 126 runs. With four wickets, Stoinis was unstoppable, while Green claimed two. Each of the other Australian bolwers contributed one wicket. Before taking on England, they won the series 2-0 and the match by a commanding 70-run margin. The third Twenty20 International ended in a draw.
