The first ODI of Australia’s three-match series against India, which begins on Sunday, October 19, will be played without the services of veteran spinner Adam Zampa and wicketkeeper Josh Inglis. Perth Stadium is the venue for this match. The hosts are already starting the series without important players like Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Pat Cummins.
The right calf injury that kept Inglis out of the three-match tour of New Zealand earlier this month has not healed. Additionally, he might miss Thursday, October 23, the second ODI, which is set to take place in Adelaide. However, Zampa will be absent from the first T20I because of family matters.
Due to Josh Inglis’ absence, Australia will be forced to play India without their two first-choice wicketkeepers, at least during the first few games of the series.
Currently playing the Sheffield Shield in preparation for the Ashes series, Australia’s first-choice keeper, Alex Carey, will start this series later than expected. Josh Philippe becomes a member. It has been July 2021 since the 28-year-old last participated in an ODI.
In the just finished T20I series between Australia and New Zealand, Philippe also took Glenn Maxwell’s place. But in none of the games did the top-order batter have a chance to play. He has scored 65 runs while playing in three ODIs.
After recuperating from a lumbar back injury, Australia’s World Cup and World Test champion skipper, Cummins, intends to return to bowling workouts the following week. It seems doubtful that he will be available prior to the second Ashes Test in Brisbane in December.
Green has resumed playing cricket in the Sheffield Shield and is concentrating on getting ready for the Ashes. Additionally, he will skip Australia’s Twenty20 International series against India in order to focus on getting ready for the Ashes.
Australia will begin defending the coveted urn on November 21. On November 8, following the conclusion of the five-match T20I series against India, this job will start.
