Josh Hazlewood shares fitness update ahead of Gabba Test

Due to a side strain, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood was unable to play in the second Test match against India. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Scott Boland, who took five wickets as Australia defeated the visitors by ten wickets. Though it is still unclear if the cricket player will be available for the third Test at Gabba, which is scheduled to start on December 14, Hazlewood will return immediately to the playing XI if he is judged fit.

Hazlewood gave an update on his fitness, saying that the next day will be critical in determining whether or not he makes the starting lineup. In order for him to rejoin the team, he stated that the intensity must be appropriate and that there are still a few things that need to be done.

“Really, I believe it will be how I pull up in the day after it. It’s simply a repeating motion, and two spells clearly make a significant impact. cooling down almost completely, then continuing the same day, and the intensity must also be very high. There are a few things to tick off, but it’s probably the following 24 hours and pulling up again the next day and then thinking ‘yes, I’d be okay to go again if I had to’,’ Cricket Australia cited Hazlewood as saying.

Not just any side strain: In Josh Hazlewood

Hazlewood emphasised that the tension that had troubled him throughout the years was not a common one. He went on to say he would have ran the gauntlet if the Adelaide match had been the final Test of the summer, but he didn’t want to take the chance with more games left that may determine their fate in the World Test Championship final.

I’ve experienced a few side strains in my profession, but this one isn’t your usual one. I’ve had a lot of issues with it in the past several years, but this year I’m ready for the first test. For a few days, I felt irritated because I had completed the Sheffield Shield game and was content with my location, but it continued to happen. I could have ran the gauntlet and played if this (Adelaide) had been the final Test of the summer, Hazlewood remarked.
