According to reports, Jos Buttler would miss the entirety of The Hundred due to injuries

Leading England batsman Jos Buttler may be out for the whole of The Hundred because of ailments, sources say. This season, the star batter was supposed to be leading the Manchester Originals men’s team. But according to an story, the wicketkeeper-batter may be out for the entire season after having medical scans in response to a calf ailment he sustained in the lead-up to the tournament.

The Originals, captained by Buttler, have participated in every season of The Hundred to date. They advanced to the tournament’s final four in 2022 and 2023 but were defeated by the Trent Rockets and Oval Invincibles, respectively.

With 391 runs scored, the English cricket player led the competition in 2023 while playing for the Originals. With The Hundred scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 18, and Buttler’s injury predicted to require six weeks to heal, he will be sidelined for nearly the whole competition. According to the article, Buttler is also questionable for the three-match Twenty20 International series against Australia, which kicks out on September 11.

It’s important to remember that Jos Buttler has sustained calf issues frequently over his career. He returned just one month after being ruled out of a bilateral series against Sri Lanka in 2021.

He sustained a second calf injury in 2022 during The Hundred, which prevented him from competing in the competition and even jeopardised his chances of playing in the T20 World Cup that year. His departure from Manchester Originals could prove to be a huge loss for the team’s starting lineup.

Buttler, a long-time member of the team, is anticipated to miss the entire campaign due to injury, and the team may find it difficult to find a suitable replacement.
