After the 2023 World Cup, Jos Buttler says, "There are areas where I still want to improve my skills."

Jos Buttler made his debut for England against India in a T20I in 2011. He is expected to captain England in the ODI World Cup in India in 2023 after establishing himself as one of the best wicketkeeper-batters in white-ball cricket over the course of the last twelve years.

Jos Buttler was a member of the England team that took home the ODI World Cup in 2019 for the first time. In order to assist England tie the Super Over and win on boundary count, he really removed the bails and ran Martin Guptill out. Buttler will captain the English team in this edition as they attempt to join the West Indies and Australia in becoming the third team to win back-to-back ODI World Cups.

Jos Buttler revealed his retirement plans prior to England’s first warm-up match against the hosts India. Beyond the major competition, the 33-year-old stated that he would like to play for the national squad. His perception that he still has room for improvement in certain aspects of the game is what keeps him inspired.

“Hopefully, I’ll play for England for a while more. I just turned 33, yet I don’t feel that old. It is a tremendous honor to represent your country, and I don’t take it lightly. I’m also really calm about it, though. I’m eager to see what comes next. I still have room to improve and develop as a player, which is a good source of motivation, Buttler stated in an interview with Mail Sport.

Cricketers have started to retire from the longer versions of the game and continue their careers on the T20 circuit very frequently over the past ten years. Buttler stated that he will select his post-retirement career in accordance with how T20 cricket has altered the landscape of the game.

Whatever occurs will resolve itself. There are now additional opportunities because the environment has shifted a little. It just depends on what works best for you going ahead, according to Jos Buttler.

We are looking forward to the World Cup: Jos Buttler

The daring batter emphasized that he has a strong team of players and expressed optimism for England’s performance at the World Cup and potential championship defense.

We anxiously anticipate the World Cup, which features a strong roster of athletes. Being a World Cup representative is an exciting experience that requires all of our attention. Everyone on the squad should remain firmly in the present, Buttler said.

On October 5, England will face New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium to open their title defense.
