Jos Buttler responds to Josh Hazlewood's "knockout" comment, saying, "We can only control what we can do."

Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood said after his side crushed Namibia in the present T20 World Cup that they can lose to Scotland in their last league match of the season and force England out of the competition. If so, England can only score a maximum of five points, meaning that Scotland will finish first in the group with seven points. The Three Lions defeated Oman by an impressive eight wickets, improving their prospects of qualifying for the Super Eight. They were trailing Scotland in the Net Run Rate (NRR) as well.

If Scotland wins, there is nothing England can do, but if the other way around happens, England can advance if they defeat Namibia in their last game. Jos Buttler, the captain of England, responded to Hazlewood’s words earlier and said that he could only handle what was within his control and that there was nothing he could do about it. But he’s still confident he can defeat Namibia and advance to the next round.

“Still around long enough to observe that remarks are made. We are aware of what occurs in the changing area. There’s going to be another big game. Buttler stated during the post-match award ceremony, “We can only control what we do; that is our entire emphasis.

Jos Buttler praises his bowlers following Oman’s humiliation

England’s bowlers performed admirably when they needed a significant victory over Oman to raise their NRR. As England limited Oman to a meagre 47 runs, Adil Rashid claimed four wickets, while Mark Wood and Jofra Archer each claimed three. England dramatically improved their NRR in the chase, chasing it in 3.1 overs. Buttler acknowledged his bowlers following the game and emphasised that the work is not yet done.

By taking those early wickets and limiting them to that total, the bowlers did a great job setting the tone. Two days from now is another important game. They bowled really well, in my opinion. They bowled with excellent lengths and lines, but there was also some extra bounce. None of us thought the surface would play the way it did, although there was some spin. Adil had excellent bowling. Buttler stated, “The message was to be quite uplifting.
