Jos Buttler on the significance of reducing outside noise: "Accepting that broadcaster pays someone to give their opinion"

The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has already begun, and Jos Buttler, a batter for the Rajasthan Royals, has returned as well. Butter held the IPL orange cap in the previous season of the league in 2022 with 863 runs in 17 games.

Additionally, in the current season, the daring English batter has continued where he left off. Buttler is one among the favorites to win the orange hat this season with 244 runs in six games. The 32-year-old has received a lot of criticism over the years despite his stellar on-field accomplishments.

Jos Buttler recently spoke forward to discuss the same. He talked openly on the value of muting outside noise and realizing that criticism is simply professionals doing their jobs.

In an interview on the YouTube series “How the Hell Did I do it,” Humans of Bombay, Buttler commented,

“A significant component is acceptance. acknowledging that a broadcaster has paid a person to express their opinion. Just going about their business. They don’t criticize me personally when they do so. I also follow other sports. I think, “Oh how did he miss that?!” when watching football. So simple. People are definitely acting in that manner when I miss a catch or choose for a low score. While watching other sports, I unknowingly do the same thing. Simply acceptance.

You’re more motivated to succeed this time around if you remember how it felt to win a world cup four years ago: Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler’s interview covered a wide range of subjects. The English opening batsman also discussed his nation’s prospects at the future ODI World Cup, which will take place in the latter half of 2023. England would enter the championship as the defending champions, and the team would be motivated to successfully defend their title in the next competition.

“Knowing what it’s like to win a World Cup four years ago inspires you to achieve it again. One of the top cricket-playing nations is India. So that will be really significant. When the IPL is over, focus will start to shift there. There is a lot of skill in England. Since 2015, cricket has become increasingly successful. We have a strong, well-balanced crew. We eagerly anticipate the competition, Buttler remarked.
