The most recent speculations in the British media suggest that Stokes may come out of his ODI retirement to support England‘s title defense at the 2017 ODI World Cup, which will take place in India in October-November.
In 2022, the star all-rounder startled the globe by announcing his retirement from one-day international cricket to concentrate on leading England’s test team. Ravichandran Ashwin asserts that it will be the job of England’s white-ball skipper Jos Buttler to persuade Stokes to change his mind about calling it quits in ODI cricket.

The veteran scored 2924 runs in 105 ODIs for an average of 38.99 and a strike rate of 95.09, totaling 2924 runs. Over the course of his 50-over international career, he has scored three centuries and 21 half-centuries.
Stokes has performed admirably with the ball, picking up 74 wickets and posting career-best figures of 5/61. He has experienced injury problems recently, so if he does make a comeback for the ODI World Cup in 2023, he could only be able to bat.
