In the fifth T20I of the series, India crushed England by 150 runs thanks to a brilliant bowling display, especially Abhishek Sharma’s thrilling 135-run innings. The English unit was under pressure from the start because to Abhishek’s daring strokeplay.
Jos Buttler, the English white-ball captain, praised Abhishek’s thrilling performance but acknowledged that none of his team’s strategies were able to stop the 24-year-old.
Indeed, we are dissatisfied with the outcome; India’s batting performance was outstanding. I believe Abhishek Sharma deserves praise because I thought his ball-striking was as clean as I’ve ever seen and he played incredibly well. We constantly go down and consider what more we could have done or how we could have stopped him, but on certain days, I believe the opposition deserves a lot of respect because I thought he played incredibly well,” Buttler said, as reported by News18.
However, Jos Buttler commended England’s bowling effort in the final few Indian innnings.
“There are moments when you want to give the opponent credit for Abhishek’s outstanding performance. He continued, “You always wonder what else you could do, how we could get him out, how we could slow him down, but yeah, credit to us for persevering, fighting back, and keeping them down to 240 after the start they got.”
Sometimes when a player has a roll, it can be challenging: Buttler Buttler recalled Abhishek’s time in the Indian Premier League in 2024 and mentioned that he performed similarly for India yesterday.
