In my opinion, Jos Butler will score the most runs during the ODI World Cup in 2023: J. S. Kallis

Jacques Kallis, a former South African cricketer, believes that England captain Jos Butler would score the most runs at the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. Between October 5 and November 19, India will host the ICC World Cup.

The tournament’s opening match will be between defending champions England and last year’s runners-up New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. under an interview with the ICC, Kallis admitted that he likes Buttler under Indian conditions and thinks the England captain will be the one to speak up for his team during the competition.

“Jos Butler, in my opinion, will score the most runs. An outside call, but given the circumstances, I like him. I believe, hm, me, he’s going to be the one man that stands up, along with England having a successful World Cup, said Kallis.

One of England’s main players when they travel to India to defend their World Cup championship will be Jos Butler.

The 32-year-old’s performance in the 2019 ODI World Cup has been outstanding, amassing 312 games from 11 matches, including 102 half-centuries at an average of 122.83. In 165 ODI matches, he has scored a total of 4647 runs at an average of 41.49.

The renowned wicketkeeper-batter was essential to England’s successful 2022 T20 World Cup campaign. He has scored 2713 runs at an average of 34.78 in 106 T20I appearances. Buttler had a memorable 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, hitting 863 runs at a fantastic average of 57.53 from 17 games.

During the campaign, he also reached four hundreds, and he won the Orange Cap that year. The 32-year-old’s performances were crucial for Rajasthan Royals (RR), who lost to Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 championship game. RR was captained by Sanju Samson.
