Jofra Archer and Ollie Robinson extend contracts with Sussex as the pacers enter a decade of collaboration

Jofra Archer and Ollie Robinson have agreed to one-year extensions with Sussex Club. Since joining the team in 2016, Archer has been a vital member of the team, amassing 181 first-class wickets. In 13 white-ball matches for England, he has amassed 44 T20 wickets and taken 42 wickets. However, the pacer is best remembered for bowling the Super Over that ended the contest against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019 final.

According to Sussex, Jofra Archer stated, “I am thrilled to have signed another contract with Sussex; Hove feels like home to me, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”

In contrast, Ollie Robinson joined Sussex in 2015 and has participated in 97 first-class matches. At a 21.

Despite his career being ruined by injury, he worked hard both on and off the pitch. In the 2019 World Cup, the right-arm bowler claimed the most wickets.  After missing two years of action owing to injury, Jofra Archer made his comeback to the pitch in a Second XI match for Sussex. He then joined the England Men’s T20 squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. In the semi-final, England lost to India despite his ten wicket haul.

As a team, we’re headed in a terrific direction: Robinson

11 average, the pacer has 423 first-class wickets. This season, he is the club’s main player and will be their constant representative in the T20 Blast and County Championship. With reference to his 2024 County Championship experience, he has amassed 27 wickets at a 24.33 average. In 20 Test matches, he has taken 76 wickets at an average of 22.92 for England.
