As the competition draws near, JioStar, the official broadcast and digital partner of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025, today released its marketing video, “Jersey Wahi Toh Jazba Wahi.”
On September 30, 2025, the most recent ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, which will take place in India and Sri Lanka, will kick off live and exclusively on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
The moving promotional video, which was created by BubbleWrap Films, highlights how the India jersey unites a billion hearts regardless of who wears it. The movie depicts a protagonist who, despite his reluctance, wears a Smriti Mandhana jersey to work. While travelling, he comes into other fans proudly sporting the jerseys of India’s women cricket players.
The protagonist’s meeting with the elevator operator at his workplace, who is also sporting a Smriti Mandhana jersey, emphasises the message: “Virat khelein ya Smriti, jeetega toh India hi na” (India will win whether it’s Virat or Smriti). Now that he has this new outlook, he takes off his jacket and enters the office with pride.
Siddharth Sharma, Head, Viewership and Monetisation Initiative, Sports – JioStar, stated, “The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025 marks a defining moment for Indian cricket — a powerful opportunity to inspire a new generation of fans as the Women in Blue set out, on home soil, to chase a trophy that has so far eluded them.”
“Team India starts this campaign not just as hopes but as real competitors, with the support of a billion voices behind them and the benefit of playing in front of home crowds. This is about altering history, not just cricket. Our goal is to use this opportunity to launch a campaign that not only encourages our athletes but also brings the nation together in support of them.
“And there’s no better way to accomplish that than by bringing forth the intense sense of pride associated with the Indian shirt. Whether it be for our men’s or women’s teams, this movie depicts the journey of the Indian fan—a coming-of-age tale where we realise it’s time to take equal pride in every Indian shirt.
In what seems to be a World Cup to remember, hosts India will take on co-hosts Sri Lanka in the opening game of the 2025 edition campaign in Guwahati.
