Jemimah Rodrigues, an Indian batter, gained national fame for her incredible knock against a formidable Australia team in the Women’s World Cup 2025 semifinals. Despite being under tremendous pressure to finish a record run-chase, this outstanding performance made sure the Indians crossed the finish line and advanced to the tournament finals, which they ultimately won.
While the country is still reeling from the country’s first ICC victory, Jemimah Rodrigues traveled all the way to Australia to play for the Brisbane Heat Women in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2025 after scoring 134 balls 127 not-out in the summit match against South Africa. Jemimah Rodrigues was in a lighthearted attitude as she expressed her honest reaction to arriving in Australia, stating that she was unsure if the Australians would let her visit their nation following her treatment of them in the semifinals.
Since everyone has been so friendly and accommodating, I must admit that I wasn’t sure if the Australians would let me pass the borders following the semi-finals. In a video interview with 7Cricket, Jemimah Rodrigues stated, “And everyone is just so happy in general for the growth of women’s cricket that has happened because of that win, because we know it is going to change massively, not just in India, but all over the world.”
