‘Every game from here is so crucial for us’- Jemimah Rodrigues ahead of T20 World Cup match vs Pakistan

India’s first T20 World Cup 2024 match against New Zealand ended in a devastating 58-run loss. Now that they are playing Pakistan in their second match, the outcome of that game could determine whether or not they advance to the competition’s semifinals. Jemimah Rodrigues, a middle order hitter, said prior to that that the players are putting in a lot of practice and are aware of how important each game is to the squad.

The 24-year-old continued by saying that they should focus on each game as it comes up and that they can resume their winning ways if each player gives it their all. She wants the squad to go back to winning ways by following the plan and playing quality cricket.

And I believe we can win matches if we can accomplish that and play our best cricket, Jemimah Rodrigues stated, as cited by the ICC.

“I believe that our squad has been performing incredibly well lately because we are just following the plan and giving it our all every game. From here on out, every game is vitally important to us. We are aware of that. However, we’re going to take it one game at a time and make sure we follow our procedure and perform our duties effectively.

The player with the best play of the day wins the match: Holy Fatima Sana

Bangladesh was defeated by Pakistan in their first match of the T20 World Cup. They have lost 12 of the 15 T20 internationals they have played against the Women in Blue, thus their record against India is not great. Speaking on the subject, Pakistani skipper Fatima Sana clarified that there are no large or little teams in the T20 format, and that teams can defeat the heavyweights on any given day.

“To start with, the T20 format does not define a team as big or tiny. The player with the best play of the day wins the match. We shall so make an effort to maintain the momentum we have established thus far. Three formidable teams are obviously in front of us. We’ll do everything in our power to help them,” Sana remarked.
