‘Such loose comments’ - Jatin Paranjape defends Prithvi Shaw after MCA official's recent remarks against him

Prithvi Shaw, an Indian batsman, has been a hot topic among commentators for a number of months. Despite starting off as a promising talent, the young player has just suffered a catastrophic setback. Prithvi Shaw was long dropped from the Indian team and went unsold in the IPL 2025 big auction.

Shaw, who plays domestic cricket for Mumbai, hasn’t been able to match that level either. A representative from the MCA recently took centre stage to discuss Shaw’s lacklustre attitude.

We were playing with ten fielders in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy because we had to conceal Prithvi Shaw. When the ball would go by him, he would hardly try to reach it. He lacks discipline, attitude, and physical fitness. The MCA officer had stated that different regulations could not be applied to different plays.

After seeing the MCA official’s remarks, former Indian cricket player Jatin Paranjape backed Shaw on social media. According to him, Shaw might have played his last season with Mumbai, and it appears that the MCA is unwilling to assist the right-hander.

Such careless remarks from MCA sources are quite regrettable. They don’t seem interested in assisting Shaw. What does “babysit” imply to them? “This season will undoubtedly be his final one playing for Mumbai,” Jatin Paranjape wrote on Twitter.

An MCA official said, “Prithvi Shaw missed training sessions regularly during SMAT as he would enter the hotel at 6am after being out at night. Everyone has given him the inputs, we can’t babysit him. No one is Shaw’s enemy, he is his own enemy”. (To PTI) pic.twitter.com/eBKFjkDlqC

Such loose comments from sources within the MCA are truly unfortunate. Looks like they are not interested in helping Shaw out. What do they mean by “babysit” ? This will definitely be his last season as a Mumbai player. https://t.co/1PYxjcvQLU

Too many people have complete opinions based on only half the facts. Prithvi Shaw

Following the recent statements made by the MCA official, Prithvi Shaw made waves once more with a mysterious Instagram story. Shaw discussed how people often speak without fully understanding all the facts in his story.

“Avoid speaking on anything you don’t completely grasp. Too many people have opinions based on only half the facts. “Friyay,” Shaw wrote.
