Jasprit Bumrah for new high in ICC Men's Test bowling rankings

Jasprit Bumrah, India’s bowling leader, put on another outstanding performance in the third game of their ICC World Test Championship series against Australia in Brisbane, earning him the joint-highest rating points ever gained by a Test bowler from his nation.

In December 2016, following the fourth Test match against England in Mumbai, the recently retired Ravichandran Ashwin reached 904 rating points, which Bumrah increased by 14 points to reach his final total of 9/94.

Jasprit Bumrah now leads the bowling rankings by 48 rating points after taking 21 wickets in the series thus far.

Kagiso Rabada (856) and Josh Hazlewood (852), two bowlers who were once at the top of the rankings, now rated second and third, respectively.

Even though a number of batters, including Travis Head, have improved in the most recent rankings update, which takes into account performances in all matches that ended within the last week, Mohammad Siraj has moved up one spot to 24th place and Head is among the top 100 bowlers.

Head moved up to fourth place in the list, which is topped by Joe Root, after surpassing India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal with a knock of 152 in the first innings. Alex Carey’s 70 and 20 not out have moved him up 11 spots to 29th place, while Steve Smith’s 101 in the first innings has put him back in the top 10. KL Rahul of India moved up 10 spots to 40th place, while Ravindra Jadeja moved up 9 spots to 42nd.

Ayub and Klaasen make significant strides

The South Africa-Pakistan ODI series’ top players see significant increases in the ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings.

With scores of 109, 25, and 101 in Pakistan’s historic 3-0 victory, Player of the Series Saim Ayub has moved up 57 spots to a career-high 23rd place, while Heinrich has returned to the top five for the host team following series performances of 86, 97, and 81.

While Kagiso Rabada (up two spots to 19th) and Marco Jansen (up six places to 35th) of South Africa and Nasim Shah of Pakistan (up 10 places to 51st) have advanced in the bowling rankings, Tony de Zorzi of South Africa (up 12 places to 59th) and Salman Agha of Pakistan (up 28 places to 80th) are among the other movers in the batting rankings.

Following the conclusion of their 2-0 series victory over Zimbabwe, Afghanistan bowlers Fazalhaq Farooqi (up 11 spots to 37th) and Azmatullah Omarzai (up 43 spots to 58th) are among those who have risen in the ODI bowling rankings.

Mahedi Hasan of Bangladesh has risen into the top 10 of the T20I Bowling Rankings, while Roston Chase of the West Indies has advanced 11 spots to 13th place.
