IPL2025: Jasprit Bumrah will miss a couple Mumbai Indians games

According to sources, top pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 Indian Premier League season, dealing the Mumbai Indians a severe blow ahead of the competition. During the fifth and final Test match in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Sydney, the Indian bowler suffered a lower-back injury. The seamer hasn’t played cricket since, and he didn’t play in India’s Champions Trophy 2025 victory either.

Throughout his career, Jasprit Bumrah body has suffered due to the immense strain his bowling action has placed on it. Shane Bond, a seasoned pacer from New Zealand, recently stated that Bumrah’s bowling career may come to an end if India’s top pacer takes another hit at the same location. In light of India’s impending four-game Test visit to England, Bond, a former bowling coach for Mumbai, said Bumrah has a certain amount of risk to play in the IPL.

“They might point out that there are four Test matches overall. or three. We can definitely proceed with some assurance that we can carry him across the remaining formats if we can get him through the English summer and he’s healthy. He is your greatest bowler, so that’s challenging, but if he sustains another injury there, it might terminate his career because I’m not sure you can have surgery there again,” Bond was cited as saying.
